How to find food trucks in Kansas City

Updated: 2013-05-07T16:56:58Z

Food trucks are fun, but locating them in the sprawling Kansas City metro can be tough -- unless you know where to look.

A few solutions for those hungry to track down a mobile eatery:

1. Check The Star’s 2013 Food Truck Guide, with helpful info on 29 food trucks in the Kansas City area.

2. Download Truckily, a new app that helps food truck entrepreneurs connect with their customers. According to this story in The Star, Truckily rolls out this month and was developed with input from Kansas City food trucks Indios Carbonsitos, CoffeeCakeKC and the Funnel Cake Truck.

3. Mark your calendar for Food Truck Friday, this Friday from 5-8 p.m. in the Kansas City Star parking lot at 18th and McGee. Eight food trucks will be parked there, so you can sample their offerings and find your favorite. The lineup includes everything from cupcakes to Cajun food. Participating food trucks include INDIOS CARBONSITOS, 3girlscupcakes, CoffeeCakeKC, El Tenedor KC, Cajun Cabin, Beauty and The Bistro, Wilma's Real Good Food, Crave of KC Food Truck and Little Italy.
