Kansas City’s Public Works Department will start the conversion this week.
The goal is to help drivers navigate downtown more effectively.
The first street to be converted is Walnut Street, between Truman Road and 20th Street.
If the weather permits, work begins Wednesday adjusting traffic signals on Walnut at 18th, 19th and 20th streets.
The switchover will be made Sunday.
Other streets to be converted later this month:
• Baltimore Avenue between 10th and 12th Street.
• 14th Street between Broadway and Wyandotte Street.
• Walnut Street between Fifth Street and 12th Street.
The city doesn’t plan to change any parking allignment of the streets.
