A Kansas City man arrested after a police standoff over the weekend was charged today with taking part in four armed robberies since early February.

Gary P. Goodspeed was charged in Jackson County Circuit Court with four counts of first-degree robbery and four counts of armed criminal action. Bond was set at $500,000.

Police arrested Goodspeed, 22, on Sunday after the most recent robbery involving a female employee of an escort service who was robbed after being called to the 2100 block of East 70th Terrace, according to court records.

After a second woman was called later to the same location, police surrounded a house after a suspect ran back inside. After a standoff of several hours, police entered the house and found Goodspeed in the attic.

After his arrest, Goodspeed admitted to taking part in other armed robberies on Feb. 9 and Feb. 18, according to court records.
