I plan to post some short question-and-answer session with various Royals players during the season. First up is utilityman Elliot Johnson, who played second base and third base during the three-game series with the Blue Jays.

QUESTION: There are six gloves in your locker. How many do you have?
ANSWER: I only use three. I'm going to put in an order for a couple of different ones here pretty soon actually, so I'll use four. I need a little bit bigger glove for third base. I need to go 11 3/4 or maybe even a 12. I'm using an half now, because I'm comfortable with it. If it goes in there, I'll catch it."
QUESTION: Did you ever envision being this versatile?
ANSWER: "Certainly not. I think everybody thinks they're going to play one spot at one position everyday. I don't think you really think you're going to do that until you get up here and they ask you to do it. It's not something you really prepare for. Nobody's a utility player when they sign, you know what I mean?"
QUESTION: Is it fun?
ANSWER: "Absolutely. You get a little different feel for different places and its really fun as long as you continue to do your job well."
