Police standoff on Troost ends peacefully

A man suspected in an armed robbery Friday night at 41st and Campbell streets ducked into a beauty salon near 43rd Street and Troost Avenue, prompting an Operation 100 by Kansas City police.

The man left the building at 1 a.m. and was taken into custody without incident.

The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. and several area streets were blocked off.

Police said the robbery victim was able to give them a detailed description of the suspect, who was spotted by officers. When the suspect saw police he entered the salon. Several people ran out and police surrounding the building. The suspect was believed to be alone inside.
