Officials with the Majestic Restaurant have applied for a liquor license in Westport.

If all goes well, they would open a new concept in the former Napoleon Bakery space at 706 Westport Road. Frank Sebree of the Majestic, at 931 Broadway, declined to comment.

Kansas City Bread Co. had operated a wholesale bakery operation in the back of the one-story, 5,000-square-foot brick building for a time and planned to add a retail operation there in the summer of 2012 but closed in the fall, according to the broker for the property. Another local bakery also temporarily operated in the spot until March.

The building is listed for lease, or for sale for $650,000.
