Defensive lineman Ropati Pitoitua, who became a starter for the Chiefs last season after they lost Glenn Dorsey to injury, signed today as an unrestricted free agent with the Tennessee Titans.

The Chiefs also lost Dorsey in free agency, to the 49ers, so they’re down a couple of bodies from last season on their defensive line. They signed Mike DeVito away from the New York Jets and retained Tyson Jackson by restructuring his contract but the Chiefs are still an injury away from trouble.

They also have Dontari Poe, last year’s top draft pick, as well as Marcus Dixon, Daniel Muir, Jerrell Powe, Anthony Toribio and Allen Bailey. The Chiefs signed Dixon and Muir, who are veteran backups, this year.

Powe, Toribio and Bailey have been with the Chiefs as backups.
