A 24-year-old man from Naperville, Ill., died Saturday night in a weather-related accident on Interstate 35 between Kearney and Liberty, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The wet roadway caused Joshua J. French to lose control of his 2001 Toyota and hit a guard rail while traveling southbound on I-35, the highway patrol reported. French was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:20 p.m. He was alone in the car and was wearing a seatbelt.
