KC area Freebirds hold fundraiser for JJ’s

Updated: 2013-03-23T15:01:16Z

Freebirds World Burrito will hold a fundraiser for JJ's restaurant this weekend.

The area Freebirds — in Lee's Summit, Mission, Westport and Lawrence — will donate 10 percent of their sales Saturday and Sunday to the JJ's trust fund.

The locally owned JJ's restaurant was leveled in an explosion on Feb. 19. The fund is assisting those staff members and others affected by the explosion.

"JJ's was a Kansas City staple and was extremely popular among the Kansas City community," said Bryce Katz, FB Midwest Development partner.
