A free class on family finances, focusing especially on paying for children’s education, will be held April 23 at the Manual Career and Technical Center in Kansas City.

The event for parents is part of the Kansas City Public Schools’ Parent University and will be led by Patricia Palmer of the UMKC Center for Economic Education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Class begins at 5:30 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m. at Manual, which is at 1215 E. Truman Road.

Parents will get help with budgets, savings and financial aid for higher education expenses.
