Updated: 2013-03-22T18:31:31Z

Backup linebacker Edgar Jones, an unrestricted free agent, said on his Twitter account today that he has re-signed with the Chiefs.

Jones, who played in college at Southeast Missouri State, signed with the Chiefs last summer after playing five seasons for the Baltimore Ravens. He played in all 16 games last season and was one of the Chiefs’ top players on special teams.

His most memorable play of the season came during an October game in Tampa Bay. He recovered a Tampa Bay fumble after a blocked punt and returned it 11 yards for a touchdown.
