Peculiar, Mo. man dies after being ejected from vehicle that became airborne in crash

A 19-year-old Peculiar, Mo., man died early this morning after being ejected from his vehicle that had become airborne in a crash.

The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the driver as Jacob E. Mills.

Mills was driving north on Missouri Route J south of Raymore about 1:15 a.m. when he lost control on an ice-covered road near East 195th Street, according to the highway patrol.

He ran off the left side of the road struck a culvert and became airborne. When it landed, the vehicle overturned onto its top and ejected Mills.

Mills, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the highway patrol.
