Fire heavily damages Truman Road building

Updated: 2013-03-22T17:51:17Z

Kansas City firefighters battling a structure fire at Truman Road and Spruce Avenue were forced to deal with a water main break that affected a hydrant.

Additional pumper trucks were called in to assist, but the fire department said the water main break did not affect their ability to fight the fire.

Police blocked traffic on Truman Road, which was buckling due to the water main break just west of Spruce.

The building was fully involved. The fire was reported about 10:35 p.m.
