KCPD: Man’s death in truck at Blue Valley Park appears accidental

The death of a man found in a burned-out truck in Blue Valley Park earlier this month appears to be an accident, Kansas City police said Monday.

The truck was found March 7 near 27th Street and Topping Avenue.

The victim’s body showed no signs of foul play and the fire did not appear to be intentionally set, police said. The truck also sustained damage that could have started the fire, police said.

Police are awaiting DNA test results before releasing the victim’s name. The truck belonged to a man reported missing from Independence.
