Kansas, Kansas State and the other six teams competing in the opening-round NCAA Tournament games this weekend at the Sprint Center are scheduled to hold practices Thursday that are open to the public.

The schedule, which could be adjusted, is:
• Noon-12:40 p.m.: Mississippi
• 12:45-1:25 p.m.: Villanova
• 1:30-2:10 p.m.: Wisconsin
• 2:15-2:55 p.m.: Kansas State
• 4:25-5:05 p.m.: North Carolina
• 5:10-5:50 p.m.: Kansas
• 5:55-6:35 p.m.: Boise State or La Salle (tentative; teams play a first-round game Wednesday, winner advances to Kansas City)
• 6:40-7:20 p.m.: Western Kentucky
There will be four games on Friday and two on Sunday. Tickets are sold out pending returns from each team’s allotment.
Wisconsin, seeded fifth in the West Region, opens play Friday against No. 12 seed Mississippi at 11:40 a.m., followed by No. 4 seed Kansas State vs. the Boise State-La Salle winner, which will be a No. 13 seed. That game tips off about 2:10 p.m. and will be televised on truTV. The winners play Sunday, time and TV to be announced, for a spot in the regional semifinals in Los Angeles.
The second session Friday will start with North Carolina, seeded eighth in the South Region, against No. 9 seed Villanova at 6:20 p.m. No. 1 seed Kansas will play No. 16 Western Kentucky in the last game of the day, around 8:50 p.m. on TNT. The winners will play Sunday, time and TV to be announced, for a spot in the regional semifinals in Arlington, Texas.
Missouri, the No. 9 seed in the Midwest Region, is opening the NCAA Tournament on Thursday in Lexington, Ky., against No. 8 Colorado State. That game tips off around 8:20 p.m. on TBS.
