Fatal victim of Friday wreck in Kansas City identified

Kansas City police today identified a woman killed Friday in a wreck in the 900 block of Winchester Avenue as Tami L. Thompson, 51, of Kansas City.

Thompson had been parked along the east curb when she pulled out and executed a U-turn in front of a northbound pickup truck about 4:40 p.m., police said. The collision propelled the van she was driving into two cars parked along the west curb. Thompson died shortly after she was taken to a hospital. A woman standing by one of the parked cars suffered serious injuries.
