One dead after crash in Kansas City’s Northeast

One woman was killed and another was seriously wounded in a chain-reaction traffic accident about 4:45 p.m. today on Winchester Avenue near Ninth Street.

Two vehicles collided and the impact forced one of them into a parked vehicle. A woman driving one of the vehicles was taken to a hospital, where she died shortly afterward. A woman who was outside the parked vehicle was briefly pinned and was transported to a hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, police said.
