Missouri qualified 10 wrestlers to the NCAA championships for the second straight year as pairings for the national meet March 21-23 in Des Moines, Iowa, were announced Wednesday.

The Tigers, ranked fourth in the National Wrestling Coaches Association/USA Today poll, are coming off a Mid-American Conference championship, their second consecutive conference championship. MU won the Big 12 title last year and joined the MAC this season as an affiliate member.

Eight of the Tigers’ 10 wrestlers received automatic bids, including Alan Waters (125 pounds), Nathan McCormick (133), Drake Houdashelt (149) and Dom Bradley (285), who won individual conference titles. Brent Haynes (197), Mike Larson (184), Todd Porter (174) and Kyle Bradley (157) were MU’s other automatic NCAA qualifiers.

MU’s Nicholas Hucke (141 pounds) and Zach Toal (165) received wild-card bids Wednesday.

Mizzou was the only program in the nation to send all 10 starters to the NCAA meet last year, which held in St. Louis. Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech joined MU in qualifying all 10 starters to the NCAAs this year.
