Center High School student injured in fall from truck

A Center High School sophomore was taken to a hospital today after falling from the back of a pickup truck and hitting his head in the parking lot of the school at 87th Street and Holmes Road.

The student had a seizure after the accident, which happened just after 4 p.m., but he was alert on the way to the hospital and is expected to be OK, said Center School District spokeswoman Kelly Wachel.

The student was in the back of the truck and apparently lost his balance when the driver hit the gas.

Wachel said her earlier reports that the student was a freshman or that the incident happened at Center Middle School were incorrect.
