Five shot after teen concert in Kansas City

Five people were shot, one critically, early Sunday morning at a southeast Kansas City banquet hall.

Police said shots were fired at about 3 a.m. at the Tropical Palms Banquet Hall, 87th Street and Hillcrest Road, where about 150 juveniles had been attending a teen concert.

Police located three shooting victims, one in critical condition. Two other victims arrived at the hospital in private vehicles.

Witnesses told police that shots were fired inside the banquet hall, striking one person. The shooting continued into the parking lot, where the other victims were struck. Police said they had limited information on who fired the shots.
