KCK man charged in Thursday homicide

Wyandotte County prosecutors charged a 23-year-man Friday with first-degree murder in the Thursday morning shooting death of another man in Kansas City, Kan.

Kenneth F. Cox, of Kansas City, Kan., also was charged with aggravated assault because a second person was wounded in the incident reported about 12:30 a.m. Thursday at a residence in the 3100 block of South 63rd Street, according to prosecutors.

Tyler L. Manis, 20, was killed after a disturbance broke out during a small gathering of people, according to Kansas City, Kan., police.

Bond for Cox was set at $500,000. He is being held in the Wyandotte County Jail.
