Standoff in east Kansas City ends without arrest
March 8
Police surrounded the house in the 8700 block of East Seventh Street about 8 p.m. after responding to reports of domestic violence.
Neighbors told police that they heard a man and a woman arguing. Arriving officers saw the man drag the woman into the residence. They then heard gunshots.
Police contacted the man, but he was uncooperative, so police called an Operation 100, which is a tactical response for when there’s a barricaded subject.
The standoff ended about 1:30 a.m. after police said the man they were looking for was no longer inside the house, according to media reports.
A woman and child inside the house were uninjured.
