BNSF to test natural gas
Heads up
BNSF Railway will test natural gas as fuel
March 6
BNSF Railway, which has major rail operations in the Kansas City area, plans later this year to test using natural gas to power its locomotives.
If successful, the experiment could weaken oil’s dominance as a transportation fuel and provide a new outlet for the glut of cheap natural gas in North America.
BNSF is one of the country’s biggest consumers of diesel fuel.
A gallon of diesel fuel recently cost about $4, while the equivalent amount of energy in natural gas costs 48 cents at industrial prices.

The online retailer announced it will make a pilot for “Sara Solves It,” an animated, math-focused mystery developed by WGBH and Out of the Blue Enterprises.
The show is the sixth pilot geared for kids by Amazon Studios, the retailer’s original movie and series production arm.
Amazon also has comedy pilots and movies in development.
