A 61-year-old Ottawa, Kan., woman was sentenced this week to 25 years in federal prison for running a prescription drug ring that led to a man’s death.
Connie Edwards had pleaded guilty. She was one of 10 people from Ottawa charged in the case. Federal prosecutors said a man died in May 2009 from taking a toxic combination of drugs he obtained from the ring.
