We’re more than a week away from Selection Sunday, but March Madness is in full swing on the NAIA and NCAA Division II levels of college basketball.

Three conference championship games involving area college teams will be played Tuesday night.

The 32-0 Columbia College men, ranked No. 1 in the NAIA Division I poll, play host to Park at 7 p.m. Tuesday for the American Midwest Conference title and an automatic berth in the NAIA tournament March 13-19 at Municipal Auditorium. The MidAmerica Nazarene men are also playing for a spot in Kansas City, but will have to beat Evangel, the top-seeded team in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, in Springfield. That game also tips off at 7.

On the women’s side, MidAmerica plays host to the Heart title game against Central Methodist at 7 p.m. That winner earns a spot in the NAIA women’s tournament, which is March 13-19 in Frankfort, Ky. In NCAA Division II, the William Jewell women are still alive in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament and face Maryville in the quarterfinals at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Evansville, Ind.

The MIAA men’s and women’s tournaments start Monday night with first-round men’s games. The quarterfinals start Thursday at Municipal Auditorium.
