Dispute among pool players leaves one dead, another injured
March 4
Police responded to the disturbance about 3:30 a.m. outside a house in the 9200 block of Eastern Avenue.
Officers found a man who had been fatally shot outside a house, police said.
A short time later, they found the stabbing victim just north of the site of the shooting. His injuries were minor, police said.
Police arrested a third man who they think instigated the violence.
The suspect apparently invited the other two men to his home to play pool. At some point, a dispute erupted between the suspect, who allegedly pulled a knife, and one of the men. The other man tried to intervene and was stabbed.
The suspect allegedly pulled a gun and continued fighting with the first man, eventually shooting him.
It was unclear what sparked the dispute.
