Residents rescued from balcony in Shawnee apartment fire

Firefighters rescued several residents of the Carlyle Apartments in Shawnee from a third-floor balcony during a two-alarm fire Sunday night.

Firefighters responded to a call reporting heavy smoke at 11709 W. 76th St. at 8:46 p.m. The fire was reported under control at 9:29 p.m.

Nobody had to be taken to hospitals.
