TOPEKA, Kan. — Sheriff's detectives and health authorities are investigating the death of a 5-month-old baby at an unlicensed day care operation in southern Topeka.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports Shawnee County deputies were called to the facility Wednesday afternoon about an unresponsive infant.
Deputies and firefighters administered CPR, but the baby was pronounced dead at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center.
The baby's name had not been released Thursday. The Shawnee County Health Agency Child Care Licensing Program is looking into the case.
