A Kansas federal judge has sentenced a Modesto, Calif., methamphetamine dealer to life in prison.

A jury convicted Juan Manuel Cortez-Diaz, 36, in June of distributing meth and two counts of possessing meth with intent to distribute it.

Kansas City, Kan., police stopped Cortez-Diaz in May 2011 after seeing him leave a drug stash house carrying two pounds of methamphetamine. Raiding the house later, authorities recovered seven more pounds.
