• ABOUT TEXAS TECH (9-16, 2-12): The Red Raiders have lost eight straight games since beating Iowa State at home last month. Texas Tech’s other Big 12 victory came over TCU.... Crockett is having a strong individual season, while Gray is one of the best freshman guards in the conference.... Texas Tech arrived in Manhattan on Saturday night to make sure it didn’t encounter bad weather on the way to the game.
• ABOUT KANSAS STATE (22-5, 11-3): The Wildcats are trying to win their fourth-straight game and stay on top of the Big 12 standings. A victory over Texas Tech could move them into sole possession of first if Kansas loses at Iowa State, which owns the Big 12’s longest home-court winning streak, on Monday.... Will Spradling played through pain after getting hit in the chest on Saturday. Early indications are that he suffered a bruise and will be able to play against Texas Tech, but there is a chance he will not be healthy enough to go.
• BOTTOM LINE: The way the Wildcats have been playing, they should win this game easily. It will be interesting to see how many fans brave the weather.
