First half

Key play: With senior forward Alex Oriakhi exiled to the bench with two fouls, the Wildcats proceeded to drill two threes and make a pair of free throws to cap a 12-2 run that cut Kentucky’s deficit to 30-27 with a little under two minutes left. The game would remain close the rest of the way.

Key stat: Missouri dominated the points in the paint 24-14.

Second half

Key play: Kentucky center Willie Cauley-Stein made a layup with less than a minute left that tied the game at 75-75 and ultimately forced overtime.

Key stat: Kentucky shot 65.4 percent from the field in the second half, compared to 39.3 percent in the first half.

Overtime

Key play: With Missouri trailing 81-79, a turnover by Phil Pressey led to two Kentucky free throws, which allowed the Wildcats to build a lead they managed to hold onto.

Key stat: Missouri was outrebounded 41-39, a rarity this season.

Notes

Missouri remains just one win away from its fifth consecutive 20-win season, which would be a school record.

Missouri next win will also be coach Frank Haith’s 50th at Missouri, making him the fastest coach to reach the mark in school history.

Missouri will take to the road again Thursday, when they travel to Columbia, S.C., to face the Gamecocks. Three of Missouri’s last four SEC games are on the road.
