More than 60 area restaurants plan to participate in a fundraiser on Saturday for employees of the former JJs restaurant, leveled in a gas explosion earlier this week.

JJs fundraiser planned for Saturday

The restaurants will donate 10 percent of their sales that day to the JJs Restaurant Support Fund, an account set up and managed by the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association. The funds will be turned over to JJs owners and team to help staff members.
Among the restaurants participating are: Blue Bird Bistro, Café Trio, Extra Virgin, Lews Grill & Bar, Lidias Kansas City, Mio - an Italian Trattoria, Nicas 320, Oklahoma Joes Barbecue, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Story, Tavern at Mission Farms and Tavern in the Village, The Jacobson, and Vs Italiano Ristorante.
