Parents shouldn’t let kids play in snow piles near roads
February 22
Olathe issued an alert to parents telling that crews can’t easily distinguish the difference between a pile and a fort.
Lee’s Summit Assistant Fire Chief Jim Eden expressed similar concerns.
“We haven’t had any incidents this time, but in years past we have,” Eden said. “We ask that parents don’t allow their children to play in the snow piles in or next to the street. A snow plow coming through cannot see the kids who might have tunneled into the pile.”
