Many area malls plan to reopen today
February 22
Legends Outlets Kansas City in Kansas City, Kan., shut down for the day Thursday but will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.
Oak Park Mall also plans to open at 10 a.m. However, mall officials recommend that shoppers who want to visit a specific store call in advance to ensure that the store will open on time.
Zona Rosa, which also has residential and office tenants, typically stays open during snowstorms, allowing its retail tenants the choice of opening or not. Mall officials said snow crews have been at work for more than 24 hours to clear streets and sidewalks. However, some employees might not be able to make it in so some stores may not open on time.
Independence Center, which opened at 10 a.m. Thursday only to toss in the towel about noon and close shop, plans to reopen at 10 a.m. today.
There are reports that some specialty stores may not open at all today.
