A week after being upset in the Missouri Class 3 District 4 wrestling tournament, Teaney bounced back to win the Class 3 120-pound state championship Saturday at Mizzou Arena. He mowed down his first three opponents then came back to defeat Warrensburg’s Malacai Collins 3-2 in his finals bout. It was Teaney’s third consecutive Class 3 state championship. He finished his junior season 49-3.
SCHOOL: St. James Academy
Dwyer averaged 23.5 points and 16.5 rebounds as the Thunder continued a late-season surge. She scored 23 points with 17 rebounds and six assists in a Feb. 12 win against Bishop Seabury and followed up two days later with 24 points, 16 rebounds, three assists and two steals in a win against Sumner Academy. For the week, Dwyer went 15-for-20 from the field and 17-for-21 from the free-throw line.
