Snow storm shuts down some shopping centers, movie theaters, restaurants for the day

Some Kansas City area shopping centers have decided to close today, but others are waiting to see what their tenants want to do. It is recommended that customers call to check first.

Country Club Plaza: Many of stores and some restaurants.

Independence Center in Independence opened and then closed..

•  Legends Outlets Kansas City in Kansas City, Kan., will be closed. It is scheduled to reopen at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Metcalf South officials couldn’t be reached for comment.

Metro North Shopping Center officials couldn’t be reached for comment.

•  Oak Park Mall in Overland Park will be closed.. Some of its restaurants and department stores may open, but Nordstrom will not open today. Oak Park Mall is scheduled to reopen at 10 a.m. Friday.

Power & Light District: Some restaurants and retailers will be open but some plan to close. Some restaurants, like Johnny’s Tavern and McFadden’s Sports Saloon plan to open for lunch but dinner hours are still pending.

Ward Parkway Center in south Kansas City is closed However, the Target stop is open.

Zona Rosa in the Northland isn’t officially closing, but some of its stores and restaurants will be, including Dillard’s and Barnes & Noble.

In other closings today only:

Price Chopper stores will close early today. Individual store directors will determine store closing times.

The five area AMC Theatres.

The Google Fiber Space, 1814 Westport Road.

Houlihan’s and sister restaurants Bristol and J. Gilbert's.

The Mixx restaurants south of the Country Club Plaza and in the Power & Light District.

All five area Spin Neapolitan Pizza restaurants.
