Jackson, Platte and Clay counties close courts due to weather

Courts in Jackson, Platte and Clay counties are closed today because of the winter storm moving into the area.

The closures affect the Jackson County Courthouse at 415 E. 12th St. in Kansas City, the Independence Courthouse Annex at 308 W. Kansas St. in Independence, Family Court at 625 E. 26th St. in Kansas City, the Criminal Justice Building at 1315 Locust St. in Kansas City, the Platte County Courthouse at 328 Main St. in Platte City and the Clay Count Courthouse at 11 S Water St. in Liberty.

In Platte County, the administrative offices also are closed.
