It’s bee season again for nation’s spellers

Young spellers will be competing in the Jackson County and Cass County bees in the upcoming weeks.

The Jackson County finals are set for 9 a.m. Saturday at the Kansas City Public Library’s Plaza Branch. Two division bees were held previously to narrow down the field.

The Cass County Spelling Bee will be at 10:30 a.m. March 6 in the Raymore-Peculiar District Office.

County winners will advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. later this spring.

Jackson County

Those who advanced from division bees in early February:
