First half

•  Key play: With roughly three minutes left in the half, junior point guard Phil Pressey hauled in an aborted alley oop attempt to Alex Oriakhi and converted a basket that put MU ahead 29-10.

•  Key stat: Mississippi State practically shot itself out of the game, making only four of 25 shots in the first half.

Second half

•  Key play: The game was pretty much in hand, but a four-point play by sophomore Jabari Brown – which made the score 51-23 with 13 minutes, 41 seconds left – keyed a stretch where Missouri seized control for good.

•  Key stat: Missouri outscored Mississippi State 40-14 in the paint.

Guard decommits

Four-star point guard Anton Beard, a MU commitment since June, announced via Twitter that he plans on decommitting from Missouri and reopening his recruitment.

Beard, who is listed at 5-feet-10, 180 pounds by Rivals.com, is from Little Rock, Ark.
