Intel is building an Internet television product that it will sell directly to consumers.

Huggers was speaking at a conference in Dana Point, Calif.

MacBook price cut

Apple has lowered the price of its 13-inch MacBook Pro laptops by $200 and updated its processors. It also launched new models with faster processors and more memory.

Apple said the MacBook Pro with retina display and 128 gigabytes of flash memory will now cost $1,499, down from $1,699. A new model with 256 gigabytes of flash memory will cost $1,699.

Doritos watch

Taco Bell fans can finally mark their calendars: Doritos Locos Tacos in cool ranch flavor will be launched March 7.

The chain is rolling out the new variety a year after Doritos Locos Tacos were launched in a nacho cheese flavor.

Taco Bell said it has already sold more than 350 million of finger-staining tacos, making them the biggest product launch ever.

Sugary soda campaign

A group of health advocates and public health officials, including the Center for Science in the Public Interest, is asking the Food and Drug Administration to regulate the amount of caloric sweeteners in sodas and other beverages, arguing that the scientific consensus is that the level of added sugars in those products is unsafe.

Saucy starters

There’s nothing more satisfying than a home-cooked meal, especially if it comes out of a can or a pouch.

As more people try their hand at mimicking sophisticated recipes from cooking shows and blogs, food companies are rolling out meal kits and starters that make amateur chefs feel like Emeril Lagasse or Rachael Ray in the kitchen.

General Mills has a line of Progresso Recipe Starters, sauces in flavors such as fire-roasted tomato and creamy portabella mushroom that can be a base for a variety of dishes.

Campbell has Skillet Sauces that can be mixed with fresh meat and vegetables.
