Two hurt in Kansas when vehicles hit cows

Two people were hurt late Sunday night when the vehicles they were driving struck cows that had wandered onto K-254 near Benton in Butler County, authorities said.

Four vehicles hit three cows shortly after 8 p.m. just east of Benton, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Patricia Kiraly, 55, of Wichita, was injured and listed as being in fair condition in a hospital Monday morning. Also injured and hospitalized was Michelle Beneke, 53, of Valley Center, Kan. Beneke also was in fair condition early Monday morning, according to information released by the hospital.
