NIC Inc. on Thursday reported increased revenue and profit for the fourth quarter and the full year, thanks partly to new services in Texas and New Jersey.
The Olathe-based company, which provides websites and other online services for governments, earned $8.6 million in the fourth quarter on revenue of $57.2 million. That compared with a profit of $5.5 million on revenue of $45.1 million in the final three months of 2011.
For the year, NIC earned $26.3 million on revenue of $211.1 million, compared with a $22.9 million profit on revenue of $180.9 million in 2011.
The company said new business with the Texas motor vehicle inspection service and several business-related and citizen-related services in New Jersey helped drive revenue higher last year.
For 2013, NIC said it expects revenue of $232 million to $238.5 million. Net income is expected to reach $27 million to $29.6 million.
