Moran, Roberts cheer decision to make McConnell Air Force Base home for tankers

Kansas Sens. Jerry Moran and Pat Roberts on Wednesday cheered the Air Force’s decision to pick McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita as the home for new refueling tankers. The Air Force will make an official announcement later Wednesday morning after it informs the congressional delegations from the states involved of the decisions.

DEAR ABBY: I was surprised to see you equate a concerned grandmother’s creative solution to smoking with bribery in your Feb. 14 column. The word “bribe” has a negative connotation. What the grandmother did was offer an incentive, not a bribe, that will benefit her grandchildren in the long run. I think the woman should be congratulated.
