Top five recruits| Name | Pos. | Rank | Ht. | Wt. | School |
| 1. Chase Abbington | ATH | 12* | 6-4 | 210 | Ft. Zumwalt So. HS (St. Peters, Mo.) |
| The Tigers lone four-star commitment is probably closer to 6-feet-2, but he boasts speed and power and wants to play running back at Mizzou. Also had offers from a host of schools, including Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas State, Michigan State, Nebraska and UCLA. |
| 2. Trent Hosick | QB | 19* | 6-2 | 215 | Staley |
| Hosick led the Falcons to the Missouri Class 5 state title as a junior and posted another strong campaign as a senior, passing for 1,566 yards and 14 touchdowns while rushing for 1,275 yards and 18 touchdowns. |
| 3. Marcus Loud | DE | 27* | 6-4 | 235 | Wheatley HS (Houston) |
| Originally committed to Missouri in May, only to flip to Colorado in September. However, the firing of Colorado head coach Jon Embree disappointed Loud, who decided to switch back to Missouri in December. |
| 4. Josh Augusta | DT | 29* | 6-5 | 275 | Peoria (Ill.) HS |
| Fills a major need on the interior D-line for the Tigers, who must find a way to replace junior star Sheldon Richardson, who departed early for the National Football League. Had offers from Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. |
| 5. Eddie Printz Jr. | QB | 32* | 6-4 | 212 | Lassiter HS (Marietta, Ga.) |
| Printz committed to Southern Methodist and UCLA before settling on Mizzou in October. Completed 189 of 296 passes (63.8 percent) for 2,621 yards, 26 touchdowns and only six interceptions as a senior. |

The one that got awayJake Campos, a four-star offensive tackle from West Des Moines, Iowa, was a recruiting coup when he committed to Missouri in May. However, the 6-foot-7, 250-pounder changed his tune after the season, instead committing to Iowa State in December.
Still fishing for
John Burroughs running back Ezekiel Elliott is a four-star recruit who has been committed to Ohio State since April, but the 6-foot, 198-pound speedster out of St. Louis has continued to entertain overtures from Missouri, where both of his parents went to college. The Tigers hope the recent commitment of another four-star running back to Ohio State DeSoto, Texas, star Dontre Wilson, who pledged to the Buckeyes on Monday night will flip Elliott, who is to announce his decision today.

Quarterback play was certainly an issue in 2012, but its hard to complain about an incoming class that boasts two talented signal callers (Hosick and Printz). Missouri now has five scholarship quarterbacks on the roster, and thats a solid number to choose from.

Despite the addition of three-star prospect Jason Reese, a 6-foot-4, 220-pounder from Euless, Texas, the Tigers struck out on two-star Liberty tight end Kolton Shindelar (who spurned several big schools in favor of Tulsa) and will be left with three scholarship tight ends in 2013.
