The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is looking for a man suspected of impersonating law enforcement officers across Kansas, including using a false badge, while cashing phony payroll checks and writing bad checks.

Officials believe the man was operating last month in Louisburg and Garnett, Kan.
The suspect is 45-year-old Robert Helms. He is described as 5-feet-7, 190 pounds with blue eyes. He has short gray hair, is known to wear glasses and looks older than his age. The KBI said he has recently been seen driving a maroon minivan, possibly a Chrysler or Dodge.
Anyone with information is asked to call their local law enforcement agency or 911.
