A Belton man died early Sunday morning at an area hospital after he was taken away from a club where police had been called to investigate a “large disturbance.”

Belton man dies after early morning disturbance

The man was being driven out of the parking lot at the club in the 17000 block of an outer road on U.S. 49 shortly after 1 a.m. as police arrived. Police stopped the car and occupants of the car said the man was suffering medical problems. Police called an ambulance, which transported him to Belton Regional Medical Center where he later died.
Police do not know if the disturbance at the club caused the man’s medical condition. The man’s identity has not been released, and police are continuing to investigate.
