Heres a quick snack to make for your Super Bowl or Oscar party.
Nathan Feldmiller, the chef/owner of Café Europa, says old-fashioned pimento spread on bread is a tasty, inexpensive snack when friends come over.
Its a fun thing to do thats easy to make with regular stuff you have lying around, he said.
Feldmillers version is a family recipe, but not from his mom.
My mom was opposed to it, but my grandma liked to make it.
Toss about a cup of any firm cheeses you have left over from other things cheddar or Jack are fine into a food processor. Add a squirt of mustard and some fresh minced garlic or a pinch of garlic powder.
Add mayonnaise and process until the mixture is spreadable. With a spatula, fold in a small jar of pimentos. Add salt and pepper to taste and spread on white bread.
