The Senior Bowl is Saturday (3 p.m. on NFL Network), another chance for the Chiefs, who have the No. 1 overall pick, to evaluate players before the NFL Draft starts April 25.

Though it is considered college football’s premier all-star game, most if not all of the draft’s top prospects either skip the chance to participate or are ineligible to play because they are underclassmen.

But many lower-round prospects will participate and there are plenty of players to keep an eye on. Here are the game’s top quarterback prospects, top players at other positions where the Chiefs have a need, as well as a couple of prospects from area colleges.

North team

•  Mike Glennon, QB, North Carolina State: Some think he’s best passer available in the draft. Stands 6 feet 5, 232 pounds.

•  Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse: Strong senior season has 6-foot-2, 228-pounder among top group of passers.

•  Aaron Dobson, WR, Marshall: 6-foot-2, 206-pounder caught 57 passes as a senior.

•  Chris Harper, WR, Kansas State: Not particularly fast, but he’s big (6-1, 228) and was productive for Wildcats.

•  Aaron Mellette, WR, Elon: Small school prospect has the size NFL teams are looking for (6-4, 220).

•  Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon State: He’s not very big (6-0, 182) but is fast and runs good routes.

•  Jordan Poyer, CB, Oregon State: A productive college player (5-11, 190) who had seven interceptions as a senior.

•  Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington: Has two brothers who were also NFL defensive backs. (6-0, 186).

South team

•  Landry Jones, QB, Oklahoma: Huge stats, including 123 TD passes, in four seasons as a starter (6-4, 220).

•  Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas: His senior season wasn’t as strong as 2011 (6-2, 218).

•  Cobi Hamilton, WR, Arkansas: It’s difficult to ignore his size (6-2, 209) and the 90 catches he made as a senior.

•  Quinton Patton, WR, Louisiana Tech: Highly productive two-year player, but needs to prove he can succeed against better competition (6-2, 195).

•  Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor: Was a big producer in a high-scoring offense (6-2, 205).

•  Zaviar Gooden, LB, Missouri: Chosen outstanding linebacker after Senior Bowl practices, but could be a special teams star in the NFL (6-2, 230).

•  Nico Johnson, LB, Alabama: The Chiefs could do worse than drafting Johnson (6-2, 245) to pair with Derrick Johnson.

•  Robert Alford, CB, Southeastern Louisiana: Should be first player drafted from his school in 10 years (6-0, 185).
