Man gets three life sentences in Red Roof Inn murders

Updated: 2013-01-25T02:27:02Z

A 20-year-old man was sentenced to three life terms — consecutively — for the murders of three men that apparently stemmed from a jealous rage.

Isaac Perdomo-Paz was also sentenced to three terms of 50 years each for armed criminal action in the rampage at the Red Roof Inn near Worlds of Fun.

Perdomo-Paz was convicted last year by a jury and sentenced Thursday by Clay County Circuit Judge A. Rex Gabbert. Two of the life terms have no possibility of parole.

Perdomo-Paz shot the victims in the head with a .380 handgun in the early morning of Feb. 26, 2011, after one of them may have flirted with his former girlfriend. The victims were Dejan Joksimovic and Armin Hamidovic, both 18, and Delfino Elizondo, 22.

Clay County Prosecutor Daniel White issued a statement saying that nothing could soften the loss for the victims’ families, “but knowing the man who ended their loved ones’ lives has received the harshest punishment possible may give them some small measure of comfort in their grief.”
