Swathe yourself in colorful stripes this spring.

Emerald has been named the color of the year by Pantone, and other bold hues, such as coral and royal blue, are right on its heels for spring, said Tracey Gretter, owner of Clique Boutique in Prairie Village.

Gretter recommends that color-wary customers try wearing stripes in bright shades first.

She also suggests that your wardrobe needs only three things for spring 2013: stripes, bold color and fun accessories.
